Vanessa Conner Obituary

Vanessa Denise Conner was born on August 30, 1963, to Sherry Conner, Sr. and Lucy Conner in Birmingham, Alabama.

Vanessa attended Lincoln Elementary School and Parker High School.

Vanessa gave birth to three beautiful children, Deacolyn Conner, the late Jeremy Conner and Michael Conner. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother whose daily image was to make sure that her children would have their needs met, especially her son, Michael, who was her top priority. Vanessa was determined and promised to care for her challenged son just as her mother, Lucy (Moma Tossie) did.

During her early adult life, Vanessa experienced some life challenges, but through it all with the help of God and those who loved her, with hard work and diligence, Vanessa was able to turn those lemons into lemonade. She became a witness that everything works together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Our God stood in her and made a change in her life where she was never the same.

After dedicating her life to The Most-High, Vanessa walked in a way that expressed her gratitude to that of loving God. Vanessa loved people and testified everywhere she went sharing about the life changing event that occurred in her life. She was a people person and never met a stranger. Her love and the words she expressed were heartfelt by those who listened and were gravitated by her presence and being authentic. She was the "Real Deal," one who loves to bless others.

Vanessa was employed at Princeton/Brookwood Hospital for almost 14 years, where she faithfully and diligently worked. She loved her job and those she worked with and in return the love was reciprocated.

During Vanessa's entire battle with her diagnosis, she expressed one of a warrior. She was preceded in death by her Son, Jeremy Conner; her sister, Lawanda Conner; mother, Lucy Conner and sister, Tamiko Conner. She leaves to cherish in loving and fond memories, one daughter, Deacolyn Conner; one son, Michael Von Conner three grandchildren, Jasmine Conner, Dayshun Conner aind Dewayne Conner; five great grandchildren, Chloe Anderson, Tahji Hamilton, Bella Hamilton Kyng Ross and Chase Price; one Drother, Pastor Sherry, Jr. (Dr. Evelyn) Conner; a loving aunt, Annie Foreman; a special sister, Patricia Reese and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
